I started my career as a file clerk and trial paralegal, and spent the next 15+ years building up through law firm operations, from Firm Administrator to Director to COO. Along the way I've done a little bit of everything: built HR systems and onboarding programs, managed the books, accounting, billing and timekeeping, directed software transitions, oversaw benefits administration, hired and trained teams, and kept day-to-day operations running smoothly so the people doing the actual client work could focus on it. Now I bring that same experience to law firms of every size, from solo practices to growing firms, through Ridge & Canyon Consulting.
For Growing Firms — Project-Based Support
HR & Handbook Support
Employee handbooks that are current, compliant, and actually reflect how your practice runs, plus onboarding and offboarding support, and job descriptions, as your team grows.
Bookkeeping & Trust Accounting Oversight
Regular review of your books and trust accounting, so you always know where things stand and stay ready for a bar audit, not just tax season.
Benefits Administration Guidance
Help navigating benefits and retirement plan options for your team, without needing to become an expert in it yourself.
Operations & Systems Setup
Workflows, case management tools, and day-to-day systems built so nothing falls through the cracks, even during trial.
For Growing Firms — Project-Based Support
Case Management Software Transitions
Hands-on support moving to or between platforms like Clio, MyCase, or PracticePanther, from planning through rollout.
Billing & Timekeeping Cleanup
A thorough review of your billing and timekeeping practices to catch what's slipping through and get realization back on track.
Payroll Oversight
An experienced extra hand on payroll processes and compliance, so nothing gets missed when your administrator is stretched thin.
Handbook Overhauls & Compliance Reviews
A full review and rewrite of firm policies to bring them current and defensible, not just a quick patch job.

Solo practitioners and small firm attorneys who want experienced, ongoing support without hiring a full-time executive.
Growing firms, up to roughly 50 attorneys, whose firm administrator needs an extra experienced hand on a specific project.
Not a law firm? I've also worked with small businesses outside the legal world, including a multi-location boutique fitness studio. If you think there's a fit, I'd love to talk.
